Glossary of gForce Terms, gForce Technologies
ARFF
Aircraft Rescue and FireFighting. ARFF vehicles are used by airports for crash rescue and firefighting.
Hardware in the Loop
A hardware-in-the-loop simulator places real hardware into a simulated environment use to study its characteristics in a simulated experience. hardware-in-the-loop simulators are best used to recreate real world circumstances that are usually difficult to study.
Operator in the Loop
An operator-in-the-loop simulator places a real person into a simulated environment used to study some portion of a simulated experience. Applications for operator-in-the-loop simulators are varied, but generally fall into two broad categories: operator training and operator research.
Ramp Ops
In airport terminology, the Ramp is the apron or open "tarmac" in form of an FBO or terminal facility. This space is busy, used for deplanement, parking of aircraft, etc. Some facilities will permit automobiles to drive to the aircraft on the ramp, a feature of real benefit to the traveler with heavy or bulky luggage.
Ramp ops refers to ramp Operations. In our case, we are usually referring to De-Icing vehicles.
SmartNode
SmartNodes are networkable components used in a simulations. They are capable of providing physical feedback, in real time, based on the state of an entity in the simulation. Currently, gForce Technologies implements SmartNodes for Steering and Seat Motion.

Kinematic Solvers ...
Vehicle Dynamics
In physics, dynamics is the branch of classical mechanics that is concerned with the effects of forces on the motion of objects.

Vehicle Kinematics
In physics, kinematics is the branch of mechanics concerned with the motions of objects without being concerned with the forces that cause the motion. In this latter respect it differs from dynamics, which is concerned with the forces that affect motion.
